in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) is in high demand as businesses compete on Business Agility. That means professionals with a Growth Mindset, who want to upskill and position themselves advantageously in the market will want to know how best to get skilled and certified.

SAFe is provided by Scaled Agile Inc., with whom Lean Tree is a proud partner, and is the organisational operating system for Business Agility. There are a comprehensive set of training courses for professionals.

Lead SAFe

The Leading SAFe course, which leads to the certificate of Scaled Agilist, gives a solid grounding in the SAFe framework and is a suitable low-cost foundation for all roles, especially leaders in organisations implementing SAFe.

Role-based SAFe courses

In addition to Leading SAFe, there are courses and certifications aimed at key functions and roles:

  • SAFe Scrum Master
  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master
  • SAFe for Teams
  • SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer
  • SAFe DevOps

There are also courses that have been developed for specialist topics:

  • SAFe for Government
  • SAFe for Architects
  • Agile Software Engineering
  • Agile Product Management
  • Agile Marketing with SAFe

Implementing SAFe

The Implementing SAFe course, with SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification is for experienced professionals acting as change agents in SAFe implementation.

Do I need to do Leading SAFe prior to doing the course for my role?

No. Doing Leading SAFe first will give you a good foundation, but it is not necessary. Scrum Masters, for example, may directly target the SAFe Scrum Master course.

What if my current role is Project Manager, Program Manager or Business Analyst?

If you are currently a Project Manager, Program Manager or Business Analyst looking to skill up in SAFe, you might start with Leading SAFe, or you might target a role based course for the SAFe role that seems the most logical progression for you.

Team Managers and Project Managers might target Scrum Master, for instance, which is the servant-leader for teams in SAFe.

Project Managers and Program Managers might target the Release Train Engineer role, which is the servant-leader for the team-of-teams.

Business Analysts might target Product Owner / Product Manager as their progression point.

PMO staff may target being involved with the Agile PMO as part of Lean Portfolio Management.
