The Role
This role is ideal for a graduate or junior consultant with one to two years’ relevant experience who is ready to take the next step in their consulting career within a values-led, employee-owned business.
You will work in multidisciplinary teams, supporting clients through digital and business transformation initiatives. You will build your consulting toolkit through hands-on delivery, structured learning, regular feedback and support from experienced colleagues, while gradually taking on greater responsibility, ownership and client exposure.
We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive and motivated by shared success, and with an interest in developing across multiple digital transformation disciplines before specialising.
Professional Consulting Expectations
As a consulting professional, your role extends beyond delivering high-quality client work. You will also contribute to Lean Tree’s growth, reputation and commercial success by building trusted client relationships, identifying opportunities to create additional value, supporting business development and proposals, sharing knowledge and strengthening our consulting capabilities.
Every consultant plays a part in generating future revenue by recognising client needs, identifying new opportunities, supporting account growth and contributing to market insights or thought leadership. Success is measured not only by client delivery, but also by your contribution to the firm’s long-term growth, profitability, capability and culture. Consultants at all levels are therefore expected to think commercially and understand that sustainable success depends on both excellent delivery and the development of future opportunities.
At Junior Consultant level, this means showing curiosity about client challenges and developing an understanding of how engagements create value for both the client and Lean Tree. You will support proposal development, research, knowledge management and practice initiatives, and share observations, client needs and potential improvement opportunities with engagement leads. Building commercial awareness, consulting professionalism and a contribution mindset are key expectations at this grade.
Key Activities
From the outset, you will contribute to real client work and develop your consulting capability across a range of transformation engagements.
Client Delivery & Quality
Support consultants and partners in delivering digital and technology transformation projects for clients.
Help analyse client challenges, gather requirements, and contribute to practical, value-driven solutions.
Work across a variety of transformation areas such as digital platforms, data & analytics, AI, cyber security, operating models and change delivery.
Produce high-quality project outputs including analysis, documentation, presentations and recommendations.
Engage professionally with clients, building trusted relationships over time.
Learn and apply consulting methodologies, tools and frameworks in live client environments.
Contribute ideas, insights and improvements to internal ways of working, reflecting the shared ownership culture of an EOT.
Participate actively in Lean Tree’s EOS operating rhythm, including relevant meetings, quarterly priorities and agreed Practice or company Rocks, building an understanding of how individual responsibilities contribute to wider business goals.

Commercial Contribution & Business Development
Supports business development and proposal activities.
Identifies potential client opportunities and escalates them appropriately.
Contributes to knowledge assets, methodologies and case studies.
Develops an understanding of consulting economics and commercial drivers.
Development & Personal Accountability
Take ownership of personal performance, learning and development, working with the Head of Practice and Engagement Lead to understand expectations and priorities.
Participate actively in regular check-ins, feedback and development conversations, preparing appropriately and following through on agreed actions.
Seek, receive and act constructively on feedback from clients and colleagues, using it to improve delivery and build consulting capability.
Take responsibility for assigned tasks and commitments, communicating progress clearly and raising risks, mistakes or requests for support at an early stage.
Build the skills, experience and behaviours required to progress towards the Consultant level through client delivery, structured learning and internal contribution.
Support colleagues and contribute positively to an inclusive, collaborative and accountable team environment.
Engage with Lean Tree’s internal operating rhythm and complete internal responsibilities, including timesheets, mandatory training, company communications and agreed Practice or company activities, accurately and on time.

Experience & Education
Essential
Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1), a relevant apprenticeship at Level 4 or above, or equivalent professional experience, together with 1–2 years’ experience in consulting, digital transformation, technology or a related professional services environment.
Strong interest in digital, technology and business transformation.
Evidence of teamwork, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Adapt quickly and are excited by the pace of change in digital transformation.
Exposure to client-facing work.
Desirable
Familiarity with digital tools, data analysis, or transformation methodologies.
Experience working in fast-paced or change-driven environments.
