Every year there is a week dedicated to celebrating the value, benefit, and opportunity apprenticeships can bring. This year’s theme for National Apprenticeship Week is ‘Skills for life’, which particularly resonates with us, as consultants. We are continually adapting and building on our knowledge to better support our clients and learn valuable lessons that will shape our growth.
Lean Tree has been extremely supportive in investing in our ‘skills for life’. They have supported us by offering access to education that extends beyond textbooks and into practical experiences that have accelerated our professional development.
The opportunity to work on projects has been transformative. Supporting the end-to-end project lifecycle and taking on progressively autonomous roles has enhanced our progression.
We have had the flexibility to pursue areas of digital transformation that align with our strengths and interests. Small group sessions and presentations led by senior consultants and associates have provided us with valuable industry insight.
Despite following different apprenticeship pathways and placements, Lean Tree has empowered us as a group to leverage each other’s experiences. We meet weekly for book club, monthly for co-working days, and participate in hackathon-style challenges that push us to collaborate on solving business problems.
Even with varied apprenticeship journeys, we can relate our learnings and experiences to help one another achieve academic and professional success. These shared experiences also spark conversation in our collaborative sessions, boosting wellbeing as we navigate life.
Through Lean Tree, we’ve not only grown professionally and academically but have built a lifelong network of mentors and peers. This collaborative approach to learning and development truly embodies the ‘Skills for Life’ that apprenticeships should offer—skills that will stay with us and continue to shape our journeys long into the future.
